Walden Pond Moment in Great Barrington, MA
Posted on 20. Jun, 2011 by Ira Yellen in Blog, core values
I was fortunate to be invited to the Nemerson summer homestead in Great Barrington, MA. The former mink farm is the perfect nature perserve featuring a dammed up pond, beaver dam, open fields, and pine stands. It was great to be in a New England setting, reminding me of why this part of the country is so special in its seasonal changes.
It was especially a relaxing day to spend with friends and business associates, just like it should be in a warm late spring day in June. There is something special when you can walk around in the middle of nature without roads and GPS and signs. The smell of moss, the sound of a small stream, and the sunlight twinkling through the pine trees was enough for me to feel refreshed, even for a day.
We all need a Walden Pond moment. Enjoy the summer and please smell the roses, lilacs, huckleberrry….
