Pod Camp in Holyoke, MA

Pod Camp is a loose federation of people, small companies and organizations who are either using technology and social media or trying to learn about it. I ran a workshop in my studio up in Holyoke for this Pod Camp called “How to use social media to market yourself and your clients.” Half the people were freelancers looking for work; half were companies, such as car dealerships or people running bed and breakfasts or a retail business. Like the TECNA conference, the elephant in the room was “what do we do during tough times?” So again, I gave tips and ideas.
At the end of the day, both conferences primarily dealt with two things:
- How do you maintain and create relationships?
- Given our suspicion today of institutions, how do you work with those relationships and stay focused and optimistic about the future so you don’t get caught up in the turmoil of the times?
