LinkedIn, like any other real or virtual network can be a useful tool to make connections. We appreciate that as much as anyone. However, we believe that LinkedIn is only useful when our networks consist of people we can actually vouch for in some way – clients, partners, peers, classmates, fellow volunteers and committee members.

So, if one of us doesn’t accept your LinkedIn invitation, please don’t take it personally. We’re just trying to set realistic expectations within our community. Namely, if you want to connect with someone in our LinkedIn network, we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that we can make a genuine, thoughtful recommendation or introduction. And we guarantee we have real relationships with each connection.

There are alternatives. If we’ve only met briefly, consider following one of us on Twitter. Or sending us an email.
